Sunday

Sunday is my favorite day of the week - and it always seems to go by the fastest!  Here's what I did today:

Ate some chocolate muffins - not homemade...Weight Watchers!  They weren't bad, but they weren't as good as a bakery muffin either!

Bought some nice-smelling and environmentally friendly cleaning supplies - the green all-purpose cleanser has the best slogan:  We think clean should smell like cucumbers, not like chemicals.  I agree!

Made some banana bread for a neighbor who helped me out this week.  I probably have 5 or 6 different recipes saved, but this is just a quick bread from a box.

Sewed up a little pouch.  I had made this pattern ages ago and it didn't come out good.  I decided to give it another shot and this one is much better!  I think next time I will enlarge it just a bit.  Love this fabric - I want to make a purse out of it soon.

Started working on a new craft - jewelry!  I've been loving all the cabochons you can find on etsy.  I got myself a few and am hoping to add some jewelry and hair things to my future shop :)

Hope you are having a great day!

Work In Progress

This weekend I spent time on some more Basic Wallets - I completed 2 yesterday, which I forgot to photograph, and I am almost done with 2 more.  But, it's time for a break :)

I'm hoping I can finish these up after work tomorrow.  My friend and I are planning a joint party (she sells jewelry and I'm going to offer finished items as well as custom requests) at the end of August, so I really need to keep on sewing.  But, I also want to enjoy it while I'm doing it, so I have to take breaks every once in a while.  I'm also going to work on some button earrings and bobbie pins this week.  Fun, little projects :)  What are you working on?

Things I Love...on Pinterest

During the work week I don't have much time to spend on my favorite things like sewing and baking, so I rely on sites like flickr and etsy for some eye candy and inspiration.  My newest favorite site is Pinterest - you download a button onto your toolbar and when you see a picture you want to save you Pin it to your board.  I'm usually looking for sewing inspiration, home dec and food :)  I also like to browse what other people have found and Re-pin it so I can save it.  When you Pin or Re-pin it will bring you to the link so you can read the blog post or the recipe that goes along with the picture.  It's definitely a time-suck, but it's so much fun!  Here are a few favorites of mine from the last week or so  - and if you like what I've chosen, please click on the links below the pictures to get to the original posts :)  Follow my Pins here

Another Wallet and My New Favorite Tool

Another Basic Wallet!  This time a custom order for a friend.  I love to sew these, this one took about 35 minutes, not including cutting time :)

Posted by PicasaAnd this is my new favorite tool!  I love having a little bucket to catch all my threads and scraps - it keeps me from throwing them on the floor!  My mom got this at a craft fair and she recently let me take it (thanks, Mom!).  I don't love the fabric but maybe someday I will take it apart and remake it in another print.  Someday...  :)

This Weekend

Finished up these little Pocket Clutches.  So quick and easy to make and they come out cute every time!

Got a run in at the beach this morning and it felt great!  Had brunch with friends (and made my firsat sale!) and just came in from the pool.  I love the weekend!  Now to get to relax for a bit and then get some more sewing done :)

Two More!

I am addicted to making these little Keychain Clutches!  I have one more cut out as well :)  My hand stitching is improving with each one I make :)

Had a great weekend, which included seeing Keith Urban at Mohegan Sun Casino with my Mom :)  I didn't win any money though, so I have to get going to work!  Have a great day!!

Last Weekend

Hello there!  I got some sewing done this past weekend - I made some Key Chain Clutches!  I love this pattern, it's cute and simple!  The only thing I don't like is the slip stitching that has to be done to close the opening where you turn the clutch rightside out.  But, I'm getting better at it with some time and patience :)  I ahve 3 more of these cut out and ready to sew this coming weekend!

I also sewed up this apron as a favor to my Mom :)  She wanted a gift for her friend Jane and she requested an apron made of this adorable bowling fabric.  I agreed to make it as long as she made me a loaf of her famous zucchini bread :)  I based the apron off of this tutorial from Prudent Baby - I changed it up by binding the edges and making a waistband out of contrasting fabric.  I thought it came out cute and my Mom said that Jane loved it :)

I haven't had any time this week for sewing so hopefully I can make some time over the weekend!
